SERVICES & PROCEDURES WE OFFER

Whether you’re dealing with pain, injury, or simply want to keep your feet in top condition, we’re here for you. We specialize in comprehensive foot and ankle care for all ages and lifestyles.

Athletes Foot Fungus

You don’t need to be part of a sports team or even play a sport to get athlete’s foot. This condition typically arises from an overgrowth of a specific fungus. It commonly affects the areas between the toes and the arch of the foot. Although there is some uncertainty about how this skin condition spreads, it is generally believed to be contagious. In other words, you could catch it from someone else, so be cautious about walking barefoot!

Bunions & Hammertoes

Bunions occur when the big toe joint becomes misaligned, leading to swelling and tenderness. This misalignment causes the first joint to tilt outward while the second joint angles toward the other toes. Hammertoe is a condition where a toe bends upward at the middle joint. Without treatment, hammertoes can become rigid and might need surgery. Both conditions are common and can be corrected surgically. We also offer temporary treatments for relief. Ultimately, the patient decides on the treatment plan, and our goal is to restore your mobility as quickly as possible.

Diabetic Foot Care

Diabetes can lead to significant foot issues, including poor circulation, balance problems, numbness, wounds, and impaired healing. It’s crucial for individuals with diabetes to have their feet examined multiple times a year by a doctor. Regular check-ups help identify and address any ulcers or infections and prevent additional complications.

Foot/Ankle Sprains & Fractures

If you have an ankle or foot fracture or sprain, prompt attention is crucial. The best outcomes are achieved when treatment is started immediately. Contact our office as soon as possible for emergency care. We will assess your condition and provide the necessary treatment.

Fungal Nail Infections

These infections often begin as a white or yellow spot under the tip of the toenail. As the fungus progresses, the nail may discolor, thicken, and develop crumbling edges, leading to an unsightly and potentially painful condition. Prompt treatment is essential to avoid complications. If left untreated, these infections can result in serious blood infections.

Geriatric Foot Care

Just like the rest of your body, your feet will age over time. As you grow older, they become more prone to injury and infection. Foot issues can affect your mobility, so it’s crucial to keep your feet healthy.

Heel Pain

Heel pain is commonly caused by overuse rather than by a specific injury. This discomfort can result from several factors, such as wearing shoes with inadequate support, frequent running on hard surfaces, sudden changes in direction, or landing heavily on your heel. Heel pain, also known as heel spur syndrome, is often due to strain on the connective tissue running from the toes to the heel bone. Treatment options vary based on the severity of the pain and may include anti-inflammatory medications, ice packs, stretching exercises, orthotic devices, and/or physical therapy.

Ingrown Nails

Severely painful and infected ingrown toenails can be easily and painlessly treated with a local anesthetic by removing the problematic edge of the nail. For chronic and painful ingrown toenails, a straightforward procedure can provide a permanent solution by preventing the regrowth of the problematic nail segment.

Orthotics

Many common foot issues, such as heel pain, arch pain, and ball of foot pain, are often caused by faulty foot mechanics. Even a small flaw in the intricate structure of 26 bones, 33 joints, and the complex network of muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the foot can lead to problems like gait abnormalities, foot instability, and unusual or excessive pressure on certain areas.

Pediatric Foot Care

Since children’s feet are still growing, issues can arise rapidly. It’s crucial to identify any problems early to prevent them from persisting into adulthood. Watch for signs such as unusual wear patterns on their shoes, changes in skin or nail color, bumps on the skin, shifts in coordination or stamina, frequent falls and fatigue, or if they become reluctant to participate in activities they usually enjoy.

Sports Medicine

The most frequent foot issues from sports-related activities include blisters, corns, cellulitis, athlete’s foot, Achilles tendonitis, and heel pain. To prevent these problems, practice good foot hygiene: keep your feet dry, wear clean socks, ensure your shoes fit properly, and avoid overstraining your legs, ankles, and feet. If you experience persistent or worsening pain, schedule an appointment promptly to prevent potential permanent damage.

Wound Care

If you have a wound on your whole leg that isn’t healing, it’s crucial to seek medical attention. We have extensive experience in treating various types of wounds, including those caused by cuts, burns, trauma, infection, blisters, and diabetic ulcers. Proper wound care involves thorough cleaning, dressing, and ongoing treatment of the affected area until complete healing is achieved.
